Frequently asked

Where is my data stored?

Only on your iPhone (and Apple Watch). GainCurve has no account and no server. Deleting the app deletes its data; anything shared with Apple Health stays in the Health app.

Why isn't my heart rate showing?

Heart rate comes from an Apple Watch with GainCurve installed. Allow heart-rate access in the Health app (Sharing → Apps → GainCurve) and turn on "Record heart rate with Apple Watch" in GainCurve's Settings.

A barcode isn't found.

Barcodes are looked up in Open Food Facts. If a product is missing you can create it yourself — it's saved on your phone for next time.

Food search says it's rate-limited.

Online search uses the free USDA FoodData Central service. The 15,000 built-in foods always work offline; the online top-up comes back after a short pause.

How is my calorie target calculated?

From your profile at first, then adjusted from your logged food and your weight trend over the following weeks. It is an estimate, not medical advice.

Lock-screen controls don't appear.

Check Settings → GainCurve → Live Activities is on, then start a workout.
